I am Midwife Mallory! I absolutely love being a midwife. It truly is my whole heart realized. I may not have always known it was what I was meant to be, but my heart did. I genuinely care so deeply to provide the kind of care every family deserves during the most transformative season of their lives. It really matters, this work. Getting to hold space, educate and support parents on their journeys is so special to me. Pregnancy, birth and postpartum can be a time of massive growth and vulnerability and it is not lost on me how significant a support system can be during this period and I am so glad I get to be apart of it!
I have been attending births since 2017, and was licensed in 2022. I have 3 children of my own, all born out of the hospital with wonderful midwives as support. I have loved being on both the receiving and providing end of midwifery care.
We will focus on fostering a trusting relationship, with comprehensive guidance on nutrition, exercise, and emotional well-being throughout the pregnancy. Regular prenatal visits will include monitoring baby’s growth, assessing maternal health, and addressing any questions or concerns you may have. We prioritize a holistic approach, aiming to create a comfortable and familiar environment for the birthing process while ensuring safety and medical support when needed. The collaborative and personal midwife-client relationship supports a positive and empowering experience.
During early labor, we will be available by phone for support and guidance, and to help evaluate when it is time for your midwife to join you in your home. Once active labor begins, your midwife will arrive and provide support, guidance, and monitoring to help ensure a smooth delivery and assess for any complications. We believe in a more hands-off delivery and will support you through the process as much (or as little) as you‘d like as long as everything is going normally. Most Earthside babies are caught by mom or dad!
The care during the postpartum period emphasizes support and guidance with nursing, maternal mental health, bonding and nutrition. We will also continue to monitor both mom and baby’s health. Your midwife will see you a minimum of three times between birth and six weeks postpartum, and will remain available by phone for any issues that may arise.
